  1. Phone-DetailExotic Matter (XM) meter: XM allows you to perform actions in Ingress (e.g. hacking a Portal or creating a Link). Walk around to gather XM.
  2. Access Points (AP) and Level: The number in the center is your current level. Your AP is shown around your level. As you gain AP, the meter fills up. Touch the AP meter to see your current AP.
  3. OPS menu: Touch OPS to access your Inventory, training missions, and other Scanner settings.
  4. Compass: Touch to put your Scanner into Dynamic mode; touch again to put it back into Static mode. Dynamic mode aligns your Scanner to always face your direction of travel; Static mode keeps your Scanner fixed to your direction of travel.
  5. Portal: An XM construct that supplies items when hacked. Link 3 Portals to form a Control Field.
  6. Agent position and action range: Your position is indicated by a blue or green arrow. The circle around you is your action range, which indicates the area where you can take action (e.g. a Portal must be in your action range to hack it).
  7. COMM: Communicate with other agents by swiping up on the COMM tab.
