Heatsinks are now viable as soon as they are deployed on Portals, enabling Hacking on burnt out Portals immediately. In addition, with exceptional improvements to Portal cooling after deployment, the new Heatsink Mod will allow an additional four (4) Portal Hacks in the first four (4) hours following its deployment.
Summary:
- A Heat Sink can be used to decrease the duration between Portal hacks. It’s used to cooldown a portal so it can be hacked again sooner.
- With every deployed Heat Sink the functionality of the Heat Sink drops by half.
Interactions:
- Deploying: deploying a Heat Sink on a portal through the MOD status screen in the scanner.
- Recycling: replacing unwanted items in inventory with XM from within the Inventory option in the OPS menu.
- Dropping: dropping the item on the ground to allow another player to pick up. Can be done within the Inventory option in the OPS menu.
Cooldown:
- Common: +20% Cooldown Decrease
- Rare: +50% Cooldown Decrease
- Very Rare: +70% Cooldown Decrease
AP Gain:
- Deploying Heat Sink = +125 AP per Mod Installed
Portal without Heat Sink = Hack every 5 minutes
